Welcome to my feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!
Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!

I'm really glad that this week is over. Just one of those tiring weeks that leaves you tired and annoyed, frustrated at not getting stuff done! I was dealing with chores and didn't get as much time online as I hoped for, so I didn't get time to get any book reviews done. I have more stuff to do this weekend and then I'll be taking a few daya off the blog just to catch up on some sleep and chill out with a few films. I'll be posting my regular posts but I might be a couple of days late answering comments and visiting your posts, will I will catch up with all of you during the week. No need to worry, just tired, not sick!
On the positive side, my dad is feeling almost back to normal. I've also put him onto a herbal supplement that is taking away his neck pain and arthritis pains so he's feeling pretty happy about that as well. I've also had a great reading week, getting 6 full length novels done and a Murderbot novella. It's the most productive reading week I've had in years! I have one more book in my Carrie Vaughn series to read so that'll be the series completed within the 10 days I set aside on my challenge. I'm pretty pleased with that! I didn't buy anything in book form this week but a few books I ordered last week have arrived so I'll share that with you. I did download a few more for my ereader Maurice!

The plan for the first ten days of the month was to read as much of Carrie Vaughn's Kitty Norville series as I could. I can report that I've read six out of the seven remaining in the series along with a Murderbot novella and it's only day seven! A GREAT reading week! I have one more Kitty book to read this week and a horror thriller to look at and then it's on to ten days of shark reads!
Oh, there's some interesting books on your pile. I hope you enjoy them. Glad your dad is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteThanks Olivia!
DeleteMan, you killed it this week with reading! Great job! I really like the dog on the Hellhound book (no surprise huh?) and I've been seeing Sweet Pea around and think it's one I want to read. Glad your dad is feeling better and I hope you have an enjoyable weekend. We're supposed to get rain but we do need it.
ReplyDeleteIt could be the best reading week ever! I think we're getting rain too but I have no plans to go anywhere so that's ok! I'm saving the hellhound for your puppy love if I've finished the rest of the series by then!
DeleteThat's perfect!
DeleteI need to find more to read with dogs but I also have some apocalypse books with dogs on the covers!
DeleteI’m glad your dad is feeling better and you got a lot of reading done. Hopefully next week is less stressful for you. I’ll be interested to hear what you think of Unhinged. I eventually want to read a Trump book, but I don’t trust Omarosa to tell the truth. It seems like she’s always on TV, being dramatic and trying to get attention.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I'm in two minds about that Omarosa too but I do like some gossip and scandal so it might be interesting! I'm really pleased with the reading and I hope my ten days of sharks go just as well.
DeleteSo happy to hear about your dad! He is lucky to have you little healing beast! I didn't know you were into herbal supplements That's awesome Chuckles!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you are so tired. UGH chores! They so get in the way of reading! Glad the week is over then! Enjoy your break. We'll be here missing you and ready to welcome you back when you are ready :)
Healing Beast, I like that! I've decided to try a few of these herbal things as painkillers don't really tackle the joint problems. And it's expensive for all these medicines so I'm planning to find alternatives that work that I can grow in my garden. This supplement seems to be working well so I might try that too for my back and knees!
DeleteGlad your dad is feeling better!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lark!
DeleteThat's awesome that your dad is responding to the herbal supplement. I am really glad to hear he is feeling better. I hope you enjoy your R&R!
ReplyDeletePainkillers weren't helping so I figured it was worth a try and he has no pain and more movement after just two weeks which is pretty amazing! 3 or 4 long lies in my bed and I'll feel like a new Chuckles!
DeleteLOL I grabbed Orlando's books too. I'm so glad you are enjoying the series too! And I grabbed Cryptid Zoo. It's lurking, waiting for me to finish the book I'm reading now. Thanks for the heads up on it. Enjoy your time off and I hope you enjoy watching films and chilling:)
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the first book and just bulk bought the series! Cryptid Zoo looks so intriguing but I can't fit it in until next month! I've never tried the author but I have a few of his books on my Kindle.
DeleteGlad it was a good reading week, and glad your dad is doing better too. Hope that continues. The Carrie Vaughn books look fun, and so does cryptid Zoo!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I'm on the last Kitty book! Next year I really need to be finishing a lot more series-I plan to catch up on six in January!
DeleteI am glad to hear that you dad is feeling better. I hope you can get caught up on all of your rest very soon. I am glad that you were able to get so much reading done this week. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteJust a few lazy days with books, TV and longer in my bed sounds really nice right now! Once I get the chores out of the way tomorrow that is!
DeleteI hear you with the tiring and frustrating weeks. I've had ones of those too. And now that it's Sunday I've been up since 6am and on the go non-stop trying to get things done that I've been neglecting. I do hope you manage to get some time to unwind. And I'm glad to here your dad is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteUgh that is not a good Sunday Ceri! Stupid housework and other dull stuff! I had some good unwinding time which turned into a mad rush around countless charity shops buying more books than I have space for!
DeleteHappy to hear that the herbal supplements are working for your dad and he's doing much better. Sorry you've been so busy, sometimes it's nice just to catch up on movies and relax. You had a great reading week and I do hope you enjoy all your new books.
ReplyDeleteHe's feeling pretty happy at the moment. Our rest wasn't quite the 'doing nothing' that we imagined but it was retail therapy in various shops buying books for me and dvds for him!
DeleteSome good looking books. I love shark stories and McCray's are great. Hope you enjoy them.

I'm behind on my reading this week but I did enjoy some chilling out in front of the tv. I need to get back on track with the reading though!
DeleteGlad your dad is feeling better. I don't know about there, but the weather here has not been good for anyone. It makes you ache and hurt in the joints and also the mugginess hits the sinuses hard. Take care!!
ReplyDeleteIf there is one thing I dread it is an issue with the sunuses! Whether it is hay fever or viral related, it is a total misery. I hope the weather gets a bit better for you!
