Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish
in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of
2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to
bring bookish friends together. http://www.thatartsyreadergirl.com/top-ten-tuesday/

This week it is bingeworthy TV!
1) Game of Thrones
I started watching the series after season six came out on dvd. I grabbed the dvds and watched all six in about a week to ten days and loved it! Action, humour, great characters, violence, politics, betrayal...it just has everything!
2) Buffy the Vampire Slayer
I was addicted to this at the time. I loved the gang, the humour, the monster of the week, the special episodes that were silent or all singing, it made me laugh and cry! I'm a bit concerned about the reboot as I fear it won't be as good.
3) The West Wing
I've always been interested in American politics and I started watching this in it's final season, liked a few episodes then bought and binged on the whole series. I loved the characters, the homour, the in depth look at politics and the White House staff. Loved it!
4) American Ninja Warrior
I'm so addicted to this! I have a lot of favourites amongst the regular contestants that I cheer on, I love how crazy the obstacles are, great commentators and great entertainment! I love Sasuke, the Japanese series and I watch all the specials, team events and versions from other countries!
5) Deadliest Catch
I saw a rerun of series one on Discovery and couldn't stop watching it. I love the high crab counts, the fights and disputes, captains losing the plot, the tricks they play on each other...and I sit and blubber during the tragedies.
6) Steve Austin's Broken Skull Challenge
My dad and I love watching this. He's a big fan of Steve Austin's films. I love the challenges and watching them compete on that obstacle course from hell in the final round. I also like that Steve just gets on with it and doesn't make the show about himself.
7) Masterchef Australia
I love all forms of Masterchef even though I can't really cook! I love the Australian one as it has tons of different team challenges, individual tests, the constant eliminations, the tension, the celebrity chefs and I love Matt, George and Gary!
8) Gold Rush/Bering Sea Gold
I love these mining for gold shows, wherever they are! In Gold Rush we get Todd's crazy decisions, the very cool Freddy and Dozer Dave, mad Tony and his dredges and Parker fighting with everyone. In Bering Sea Gold we get the crazy Kelly family, the warring Pomrenkes and the saga of Zeke and Emily. Love this and Yukon Gold!
9) The Tudors
Ok so it isn't accurate historically, but it was addictive viewing! The acting was great and you really couldn't make up the things that Henry was doing! It got me wanting to read and watch a lot more of the Tudors and the War of the Roses period, which is a good thing!
10) The Great British Bake Off
I came to this show a bit late in the day too but now I love it. I get hungry looking at all the amazing cakes, love watching the panic when things go wrong. I was worried when it switched to a new channel and new team but I actually love it more now with Prue, Sandy and Noel!

Buffy forever!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAmen to that!
DeleteAwesome list!! Another show that I tend to get sucked into is the North Woods Law.
ReplyDeleteI need to find more time for catching up with favourite series and starting new ones. I haven't heard of North Woods Law though. Mind you I don't really watch the law and criminal based series!
DeleteThe Great British Bake Off! Yes! Though, I've so far refused to watch the Channel 4 version, and instead am watching old episodes on Netflix.
ReplyDeleteBuffy!
Apparently I need to watch The West Wing!
I love the new judges on the Ch4 version. The only thing I don't like are the adverts! If they did a new version of the West Wing based on Trump, that would be some viewing!
DeleteBake Off made my list, too! I still haven’t seen the new judges/hosts because American TV is lame and only shows episodes from 2012 or something like that. Game of Thrones is one of my favorite shows ever! I binge all of the episodes at least once a year.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I need to watch Game of Thrones again soon! I always want to be watching it! I enjoyed the first season of bake off with the new judges I do hope you get to see it! The new series is starting now over here I think.
DeleteLove your list Chuckles! I think I have watched and all but Gold Rush/Bering Sea Gold. I loved the Tudors at first and then got bored but nothing to do with the show I just wanted something different at the time
ReplyDeleteGAME OF THRONES BABYYYYY best TV show in the history of humankind :)
I totally agree-I've never watched a series as great as Game of Thrones! You laugh, you cry, you're horrified and shocked at what you see, the characters and scenery are amazing...it's just epic!
DeleteBuffy, absolutely, and I used to love X-Files too, but we're rewatching them now and they're not as wow as I remember.
ReplyDeleteLoved The Tudors and, similarly sort-of historic, Rome was really good too.
Breaking Bad is my current fave!
I have the whole X Files collected taped from the TV onto VHS but never had time to watch it! I did like the scattered episodes I did see through the years. I so need to find more time to get stuff watched! I haven't watched Breaking Bad as I'm never keen on drug series though it gets a great write up. I love The Tudors!
DeleteI used to be obsessed with Buffy when I was in secondary school. It will always remain one of my favourites!
ReplyDeleteI love the humour and the monsters! I had such a crush on Giles too!
DeleteI'm not a bit surprised to see GoT on here! I can't wait for the new season but I hear it keeps getting pushed back. Have you heard anything? I also love that there is some reality recommendations here. I've seen some of the Deadliest Catch and really liked what I watched. My Mom is addicted to Ice Road Truckers but I've not seen any of them before.
ReplyDeleteI tried Ice Road Truckers but never felt it to be exciting as not a lot seemed to happen! I watch anything reality tv to do with gold/mineral/coal mining, oil rigs, logging, fishing and other extreme jobs. I've only heard that filming has finished on GoT and that it might be April/May for the series to start, according to rumour! I plan to binge watch the dvds right before the final season!
DeleteI could totally binge-watch Buffy! It's one of my favorite series. And I also seriously love The Great British Bake Off! Great list. :)
ReplyDeleteGood choices there Lark! I need to get my dad watching Buffy this winter...
DeleteI just finished season 4 of GOT and can't wait to start season 5. I did really enjoy The Tudors back in the day but I am not sure where I left off with it. I need to get back to it at some point.
ReplyDeleteI loved the end of season 3 and whole of season 4! My heart just breaks for everything poor Tyrion endures! I enjoyed season 5 but 6 is brilliant!
DeleteI knew I would see GoT in the top spot! I can't wait until it returns.
ReplyDelete~Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum
I'm going mad with the waiting! My dad and I talk constantly about theories and possible plots and we're getting so impatient!
DeleteBuffy is awesome. I am terrified of the reboot. There are now hundreds of slayers. Why reboot a series that was so well-done the first time around? why not focus on a new slayer? Ugh.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Having the same characters will always mean a comparison to the great cast we had, however good the new cast are. There can be no new Giles or Xander or Cordelia! I think they should've went with a new slayer and new characters.
DeleteLiterally every TTT I've seen has The Great British Bake Off on their list so I'm definitely going to have to give it a go.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED The Tudors. Even if it wasn't accurate, that was always one of my favourites.
I don't even bake but I love seeing other people mess up. have a crisis or create stuff I'd love to eat!
