This book tag was created by https://chloemetzger.com/ and as I love a bit of Harry Potter, I figured I'd give this a go. If you want to take part, consider yourself tagged!
1) Chocolate Frog-A Book That You Have Multiple Copies Of
Harry Potter for this one! I have the UK Children's hardbacks and paperbacks, I have the first three big illustrated books, the entire Stephen Fry audio cds adult covers, the four special house edition Philosophers Stone books, and the beautiful 2014 hardback and paperback sets.
2) Sugar Quill-A Super Sweet Read
I don't read sweet books! I'm going for a childhood favourite with cute family of cartoon bears who go on a midnight adventure.
3) Exploding BonBons-A Book You Love That Exploded Onto The Scene
I don't know about exploding onto the scene but this book seemed to be everywhere when it came out so I read it and I really enjoyed it.
4) Honeydukes Chocolate-A Book That Can Fight Off Dementors
For me, fighting off the miseries or comfort reading is all about my favourite genres. There is nothing like de-stressing with a good horror or apocalypse book! However I'm going with something a bit lighter that I read and enjoyed recently, with plenty of action and humour. I love the Murderbot books!
5) Pepper Imps-A Book That Blew Your Mind
Not a book but a series here. I read this and thought it was the best zombie series ever! Tons of zombies and action packed missions on land and sea, set in Europe, UK, USA, Africa and the Middle East, military and civilian characters you care about, lots of humour and moments to make you cry. Love this series! And book 5 was epic!
6) Pumpkin Pasties-A Book That Gets You Ready For Autumn
I don't do specific seasonal reads other than gearing up for an autumn horrorfest! So this year a book getting me excited for autumn is based on a classic film!
7) Cockroach Clusters-A Book You Wish You'd Never Read
Where do I even start? I'm going with a horror disappointment that I read recently! I was so hyped up for it but it felt like a bad parody rather than creature feature.
8) Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans-A Book You Made Everyone Try
I never ever make anyone try a book or make recommendations. I just promote books I love on my blog and Goodreads and hopefully some people will want to read them. I'm going to pick an author that I frequently rave about and I gave all his books to my dad to read and he loves them. I haven't read this one but it's my dad's favourite.
9) Blood Flavoured Lollipops-A Book You Love But Others Aren't So Sure On
This book gets very mixed reviews but I really enjoyed it.
10) Cauldron Cakes-A Book You Shared With All Of Your Friends
I don't have any one book that I've shared with all my booky friends. I'm going to pick a book that a few of my booky friends and my dad enjoyed!
I also relax with horror! People think I’m weird, but that’s my go-to genre when I’m feeling stressed out. The characters are always way more stressed out than I am.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I'm in total agreement AJ! Reading about shark attacks, mutated monster killings and things lurking in the woods always improves my mood! I was relaxing lass night with a deadly megalodon in an underground lake!
DeleteI see lots of interesting books here. Too bad Hungry Things didn't work out. It has such a promising cover! I'm not even a huge Harry Potter collector and even I have multiple copies of some (I get a new illustrated one each year for Christmas).
ReplyDeleteThe illustrated Goblet of Fire isn't coming out until next year which is a bummer as my dad always buys them for me! I'd settle this year for The Winds of Winter!
DeleteI loved Montauk Monster. One of his full length books and I always buy them in print. I plan to read Martha Well's series. I had a blast with The Haunted Forest Tour and I too really enjoyed The Great Zoo Of China. That would be a great movie! It's always fun when we enjoy the same books:)
ReplyDeleteI have all of his stand-alone creature feature books in paperback. I've got the Jessica Backman books on ereader along with Hell Hole and Evil Eternal. Still a couple I need to get a copy of though! Can you imagine the special effects if they filmed Great Zoo of China and the Haunted Forest Tour! Awesome!
