Top Ten Tuesday-Books By My Favourite Authors I Haven't Read

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.  http://www.thatartsyreadergirl.com/top-ten-tuesday/

1) Hunter Shea-The Montauk Monster
This is my dad's favourite book by the author but up until October I hadn't read it so it's on my list for my Halloween horrorfest or Spooky Booky Month!

2) George RR Martin-A Dance With Dragons part 2
I don't want to be caught up until The Winds of Winter is out but I do intend to get this book finished by the end of the year!

3) Rachel Caine-Stillhouse Lake
I loved her Morganville Vampires YA series but haven't latched on to any of her other reads yet. I do want to try this series though.

4) Philippa Gregory-The Last Tudor
I love most of her Tudor and Cousins War books so now I'm grabbing them all, getting them into historical order and looking to read and review them all again!

5) Alison Weir-Innocent Traitor
I've been picking up the author's fiction books gradually and this is one of many I haven't read! I hope to read them all in historical order!

6) Matthew Reilly-Temple
I've loved his other stand-alone books Contest and Great Zoo Of China so I look forward to reading this even if it is a huge slab of a book!

7) Sonya Bateman-The Cursing Stones
I love her djinn and Fae series so I was always going to try this one as I think she is one of the best urban fantasy authors around.

8) Jack Kilborn-Haunted House
I'm so keen to read this! Characters from all his other books are brought together for this tale so I need to get reading another couple before I get to this one.

9) Richard Laymon-Night in the Lonesome October
I've been reluctant to read the final two in my collection as there will never be any more to enjoy. However, in October I plan to read this and Amara.

10) Nicholas Sansbury Smith-Hell Divers
I LOVED the Extinction Cycle books and the concept of this series was really interesting so I look forward to trying it soon. I've been saying that all year!

    1. I've got it on my ereader so I certainly plan to get to it at some point! Finding the time to fit in everything I want to read is the problem!

  2. I really need to read Laymon. Every time I see one of his books, I think of you. I also had that Shea book on my list. Have you picked up Creature yet? I've heard good things about Stillhouse Lake and am pretty sure I have it on my Kindle. Hope you get to all of these soon and love them all!

    1. I'll be reading the final two in my collection for my horror month in October to finally finish his books. My copies are all a bit tatty so I might treat myself to some new copies at some point! Creature arrived safe last month-haven't decided which Shea books I'm reading next month but The Montauk Monster will be one of them!

  3. I have to finish the Game of Thrones books, too. I read the first 3 and then had to take a break because they’re so long!

    1. I keep putting off the second A Dance With Dragons book as I don't want to be caught up until The Winds of Winter is released! I know that's a bit daft! I need to try and read it before the end of the year.

  4. I haven't read any of those either. There are simply too many books in the world! Not that I'm complaining.

    1. I could have written a much longer list, believe me! It does make me happy looking forward to reading them as I know I should like most, if not all of them!

  7. Ooh I didn't realize you were still making your way through A Dance with Dragons! Can't wait to see what you think when you're done. :)

    1. I read book one of A Dance With Dragons and have been saving book two! I want it read by the end of the year regardless of what George is doing! I just wish he'd finish the next one!

  8. George RR Martin. Are all his books super big? I commend all you Martin readers.

    1. I'm glad I was able to binge read them at my leisure instead of the huge wait between books. Sometimes it can be good to come to the party late! Yep the Game of Thrones related books are all big slabs of reading! I haven't tried any of his other stuff though so I'm not sure about their size!

  9. The only book from your list that I have read is Stillhouse Lake which I ended up loving. It was a really interesting twist on a serial killer story.

  10. I haven't read ANYTHING by Hunter Shea, but I think it's time I do. I've seen you review many of his books, which one would you recommend first for a complete newcomer to his work?

    1. Ooh...my favourites so far are Swamp Monster Massacre (I love my Sasquatches!), They Rise and the three Mail Order Massacre short stories. My dad's favourites are The Montauk Monster and Tortures of the Damned. Oh and if you are reading Savage Jungle, which was really good, you need to read Loch Ness Revenge first!

  11. Even though I haven't read many of Gregory's books I love both her and Caine. Don't really know anyone else but Sonya Bateman sounds like an author I need to check out.

    1. Bateman is one of my favourite urban fantasy authors so I hope you enjoy her work! I have quite a pile of Tudor fiction to look at and will be reading some of them in February! I'm hoping at some point to read and review her whole Plantagenet and Tudor series so I can write better reviews!
