Chuckles Weekend Roundup

Welcome to my feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!

Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!
****************
I'm back onto my normal blogging schedule after my unexpected holiday. I haven't greatly enjoyed getting back into the housework and knowing I have the dentist again next week though! I'm hoping that the end might be in sight for the treatment and it'll be over by the time summer ends. Fingers crossed anyway. My reduction of the TBR hit a snag due to my holiday book buying but in a few weeks time I'll have it back on track so I'm not greatly worried about it. A pre-ordered couple of books did arrive this week so I'm sharing them with you guys and I'm hoping to get back into my reading this week.

PAPERBACKS

Chuckles Blogging World
It seemed as if everyone had a busy week online while I was away so it took me most of the week to catch up with blog visits and comments but I'm pretty much back on track thankfully and I did another pile of book reviews, leaving me just a few reviews until I am totally caught up at last! That's one challenge about completed!

I went Around The Blogs as usual but there was no time for a Cover Love post this week. Top Ten Tuesday was about unpopular book opinions and Books From The Backlog featured The Dinosaur Battle of New Orleans.

I was watching dvd episodes of Coronation Street from 1991 and really enjoyed seeing some of my old favourite characters again. I could cheerfully slap Curly, Derek, Phyllis and Percy though but I did love Alf, Bet, Betty, Alec and Jim!

Currently Reading/Up Next
I only got one book read this week and that was since I came back on Sunday. I'm hoping for better this week. I'm tackling another Royal Challenge book first as I'm in a non fiction mood at the moment. Not sure what I'm reading after that but I'm planning a short summer reading post to try and get me back on track.

  1. I really hope you like Ghost Mine and well, I know you love your shark books. Sounds like you are getting back into the swing of things but I bet you are really missing your vacation some!

    1. I'm lucky to have good doctors and dentist in my area. It takes a lot of the worry away if you trust them!

  3. My whole weekend is spent doing all the cleaning chores, and I am never over enthusiastic about it either. We will have to tough it out together. I hope your dental appointment goes well and is relatively painless.

    1. Chores seem never ending don't they! I enjoyed not having to lift a finger while I was away but now I'm up to my eyes in it again. It doesn't help that my dad is so untidy and leaves mess everywhere!

  4. Recovering from vacation is so exhausting! I always feel like I need a vacation after my vacation. The amount of housework that always seems to need to be done is crazy. Hope you have a great week!

    1. I already feel that I need another holiday! I really wish I had a couple of Harry Potter's house elves to do it all for me!

  5. I spent my day off work cleaning the house, so I know the feeling of not being excited to clean. Good luck with the dentist. I hope you have a great week!

  6. I haven't seen an episode of Coronation Street (or any of the soaps really) in YEARS. Since I left home for uni I think... I remember some of the characters you listed though. I was a kid then and my mum and gran watched religiously, lol.

Good luck catching back up on everything!

    1. I'm a huge fan! I'm a bit behind at the moment as I'm working on the books first. The last thing I saw was November last year but I have all the episodes recorded!

    1. It'll be a while before I get to Ghost Mine I think. I need to plough through books that have been on my list for years first!
