Top Ten Tuesday-Favourite SF Books

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.  http://www.thatartsyreadergirl.com/top-ten-tuesday/

NB: I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow them to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account.

I wasn't sure which genre to talk about and then decided to go with a change! These are my SF and dystopian selections!

1) Elizabeth Briggs-Future Shock

2) Ernest Cline-Ready Player One

3) Joelle Charbonneau-The Testing

4) Rick Chesler-Luna

5) Suzanne Collins-The Hunger Games

6) Michael Crichton-Jurassic Park

7) Matthew Reilly-Contest

8) Martha Wells-The Murderbot Diaries

9) SM Wilson-The Extinction Trials

10) Ryan Graudin-Wolf By Wolf

  1. I sort of switched mine up because I feel like I do the same things over and over - but there are still dogs so go figure. I did books I read strictly because of a dog on the cover - and sometimes I get burned. I see some great books on this list here!

    1. That's how I felt. I always seem to do apocalypse or horror for genre lists so it was nice to change it up a bit! I'm always thinking I should do more themed reading months or fortnights or weeks but I plan them and never follow through half the time...

  2. The Hunger Games is one of my favorite sci-fi books, too!

  3. Awesome list. I really loved Future Shock, Ready Player One, and Contest, too. And, of course, The Hunger Games. I still need to read The Extinction Trials and The Murderbot Diaries. :D

  4. I used to binge one genre to death and then scrap it for years. Now I bounce all over the place and there are a few I'd liekt o get back to or try.

    1. I always seem to read more horror and apocalypse books though I do dabble in a few other genres! I used to love a lot of urban fantasy but I've been disappointed in a lot of it going too much into PNR.

  5. I have read none of these, though I have enjoyed several as film adaptations.

  6. Some great picks there, especially those books that straddle both the SF and dystopian realms!

  10. Several of these are on my wish list. Luna is one I have to read and Wolf By Wolf sounds interesting.

    1. Luna reminded me of Tremors set on the moon. I enjoyed it a lot. Wolf by Wolf had more action with the bike race and the camp flashbacks-it was different and very enjoyable!

    1. I used to love UF but so many have descended into paranormal romance and I'm struggling to find great new reads in the genre.

    1. Ready Player One was out of my usual comfort zone but I loved that 80's retro feel to it!
