Chuckles Weekend Roundup

Welcome to my feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!

Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!
****************
Overall, this has been a good week! I got two fillings done at the dentist on Tuesday without any pain and with the appointments every 2-3 weeks, I hope to be done with all the treatment by the end of August. I'm so happy that I was able to face my fears and get my mouth fixed as it is looking so much better now. I've got a reasonable amount of housework done as well so I feel pretty productive. On the reading side of things, it has been a great week! I've read a lot of books and short stories and DNFed a decent amount too which has repaired the TBR damage that my holiday spending did! I'm only one book above what I was at before my holiday so I'm chuffed to repair the damage in just over a week.

I did add a few books to my total this week but I didn't go over boards so it is only three more to that total. I can live with that!

This has been a great reading week for me! I read 11 books, a  mixture of novels and short stories and I DNFed 5. That puts a nice dent in the tbr, though I did add another three after doing this post, but that is next week's total! Plans for this week are to read these three.

  1. So happy the dentist appointments are going this good for you. I always struggle with that first appointment and then it gets better. I spotted Found World and almost grabbed it. I'll see what you think of it first as I nabbed too many books already this week. And I plan to read White Pointer in the next week or so.

    1. I didn't much like The Found World which I just read two days ago! The characters really annoyed me and the plot was all over the place! White Pointer is next on my list!

  2. Yay for surviving another day at the dentist! :D I just finished reading Briggs' Storm Cursed and I thought it was really good. I love that series.

  3. Eleven books! You rock. And congrats on facing your fears. I added quite a few review and library books this week which you'll see in tomorrow's post. Mr. Barb works all weekend as we are gearing up for stay-cation the first week of July. I plan on visiting Gpa, doing some housework and cleaning. And hanging out with Cass of course. Hope you and Dad have a great weekend!

  6. So glad the dentist is going well. I had something similar but when I finally went it was such a relief. I mean not fun but not nearly as bad as I feared. Yay for not getting carried away. I seem to be an all or nothing kind of person at the moment. I'll go weeks with nothing and then it's all the books. Have a great week!

  7. I hate the dentist (I mean, who doesn't) but there is definitely anxiety involved when I have to go! Glad it worked out well.

  13. Glad you're getting there with the dentist.
The Mercy Thompson series is one I tried years ago and couldn't get into but that was before I developed an appreciation for UF... I really need to try the series again.
