Top Ten Tuesday-Anticipated Releases

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.  http://www.thatartsyreadergirl.com/top-ten-tuesday/

NB: I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow them to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account.

I don't generally pay a ton of attention to what is coming out through the year, unless it is books in a series I'm following. I tend to stumble across them on blogs shortly before release! I have managed to put together ten I'm looking forward to buying that were released this year or are still to be published.

1) Dirk Patton-Legion
This is the last in a 19 book apocalypse series and my shelves are a bit relieved! Ironically I've still just read book one, which I loved, so I have a lot to catch up on!

2) Cherie Priest-The Toll
This sounds like an intriguing horror read so I look forward to it.

3) Hunter Shea-Slash
Any new Hunter Shea has to be added to a buy list!

4) Kira Jane Buxton-Hollow Kingdom
The idea of following the adventures of a crow during the apocalypse is just too tempting!

5) Vivian Shaw-Grave Importance
I loved book one in the series so I'll be grabbing the third later this year.

6) London Shah-The Light at the Bottom of the World
I've seen this on a few blogs and it sounds a bit different. I always feel tempted by an apocalypse.

7) Shari Lapena-Someone We Know
I haven't read anything by the author yet but the plots of the books sound so good that I've bought three already!

8) CJ Tudor-The Hiding Place
I really loved The Chalk Man which surprised me based on friend's reviews, so I'm looking forward to reading this one.

9) Tom Bower-Dangerous Hero
I read his book on Simon Cowell and enjoyed it so I will be fascinated to see what he does with Jeremy Corbyn as a subject! I also have his books about Prince Charles and Tony Blair and I'd like to get his Gordon Brown book too.

10) Owen Bennett-Michael Gove, A Man in a Hurry
I can never resist a political biography! This one should be really interesting!

  4. I'm really bad at keeping up with new releases or what's coming these days. I tend to see books on blogs or on Twitter and then request it from the library.

Hope you enjoy all these upcoming titles though.

  8. Wait! You bought three books from an author you have never read? That's a lot of faith. I am too cheap for that.

  13. I don't stalk new releases either unless it's a book I'm desperate to get my hands on like the next book in a series I love.
All the books I'm excited for coming up are books in series...

I haven't heard of any of these ones but I hope you enjoy them when you get them!
