Welcome to my feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!
Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!

Not a great deal report this week. I've spent most of the week with my head in a painting by numbers project and moaning about the heat! I haven't been online much as I've had trouble concentrating on anything other than the painting! But it is finished now and I plan to be busy on the blog over the next week with book tags and book reviews!
I've had another good reading week which is a relief-details in my Currently Reading section later. No book buying so I found three books lurking on my ereader that aren't on my TBR yet so I'll share them with you!

Chuckles Blogging World
It's been strange-blogging has felt like a chore since I came back from holiday and I'm questioning the way forward again! I'm looking to drop down to a post a day at most so there will be a revamp of content. Hopefully that will make things feel a bit less hectic every week!

I'm keeping half an eye on the Tory Leadership contest and watching the Cricket World Cup most days. I haven't been doing anything at night except reading!

I read two of the books I selected last week-Election Notebook, which took three days to read, and The Found World, which was disappointing! I did also read Valkyrie and Green Eyed Demon. I plan to get on with White Pointer next and then these three.
Glad to hear the painting seems to be under control and I commiserate about the heat. We've just ramped up for the summer over here too and I've given in and had to turn the A/C on. I always view that as the act that defines when Summer has really arrived :-)

I wish we had AC when the short humid spells hit us but we maybe get a week or two of it at most every year so not worth the cost and upheaval of getting it in. With the much higher temps and humidity in the US I can imagine AC is vital though!
DeleteI say it's summer and do what you can to make life more easier. I'd miss blogging if I didn't do it, but sometimes it does get overwhelming. Take it easy - you deserve it. I can't wait for you to read Outpost!
ReplyDeleteI seem to be out of balance with the blogging after a week away on holiday. It's like I didn't want to come back to any part of my routine this time! I'm so curious about Outpost though it is way outside my comfort zone!
Deletesometimes we need a change of pace or some downtime. enjoy your painting

It was fun to do something different! I just need to get a frame and decide where to hang it now! I think I'd like to do a bit more of it but probably in winter!
DeleteOooh! Outpost looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteIt is well outside my comfort zone but I am curious about it!
DeleteThe heat is evil! It's so funny we complain about the bitter cold and rain so much then lose our minds when it gets too hot... It's even worse with the heat since moving to the south of England but at least the winters aren't as cold. Bah... It'll pass.
ReplyDeleteWe all hit a wall with blogging at times. I think just doing what you can/want to do when you can do it is the best thing. If that means you post a lot sometimes and only on occasion other times then that's fine. People that follow will continue to do so.
It is way too warm for me when the heatwaves hit! I'm a Stark, a Winter person I think! I'm ok with cold and snow if I don't need to go out in it!
DeleteI can't seem to get back into a routine since my holiday and I just want to do more non computer stuff. I'm struggling to decide how best to go about it!
I love the cover of Outpost. It's ok not to get to much done. I liked the paint by numbers picture you posted the other day it was pretty cool and I can see how that would be a great indoor project for winter.

The weather is supposed to be grim this week so my dad and I are tackling more tidying indoors. We need to get stuff to charity shops and the dump as well.
