Welcome to my feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!
Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!

I can't believe another week is over! Where is the time going??? I didn't have a good reading week as I was trying to catch up with all the events in the European Championship on TV. Really been enjoying the events so far but I've only got one book read this week which is pretty poor. I'm hoping my hours of reading last night did make up for that and kick start me onto my next couple of books. I've got a couple of Amazon packages this week with a few books I'm really excited about! Arrgghh I have so many I want to read NOW! It seems unfair to have to choose them one at a time! Mind you I'm already planning some exciting sounding reads for September and October. Lots of horror!

PAPERBACK
Chuckles Blogging World
I've been pretty tired and listless all week but I don't know why, as I don't feel I have an infection or cold or anything. I'm glad I already have my regular posts done for the next few weeks as that is giving me breathing space while I feel a bit off! Hopefully next week will be a bit more productive for blogging and reading!

I only got one of my three choices read this week as other stuff was distracting me. I finished and enjoyed Ready Player One and I'm now looking forward to seeing the film! I'm sticking with the next two books I chose last week and adding another.
This month is definitely flying by. I'm with you in wondering where the time has gone.

It's a bi scary! Summers lasted forever when I was a kid!
DeleteI'm definitely interested in Chills, Red Creek and The Dreams. Of course all your books look good. I'm reading Creature by Hunter Shea right now and loving it. In fact, I hope to finish it tonight after work. I'm so envious that you always seem to be so far ahead with blogging :)
ReplyDeleteI'd have been in a world of hurt with my blogging this week if I didn't have these prearranged posts to upload. I'm looking forward to reading Creature when Amazon send me the paperback!
DeleteI hope you’re enjoying the Championship. I’ve barely read at all this week because I have a bunch of relatives staying with me. I’ve been busy. I hope you feel better soon and love your new books!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
The BBC coverage has not been great but the sport itself is good. My reading last night feels wasted as I DNFed a poor book!
DeleteI'd love to know what you think of The Last One! Hope you start feeling better. And enjoy your weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteI really didn't like it! I found it really dull and boring and the MC annoyed me!
DeleteI'm curious to hear your thoughts on "The Last One" and I hope you'll review it! (Mine weren't all that great.)
ReplyDeleteI didn't like it at all! I will be reviewing it but that won't go up for a few weeks as I have a review backlog! I'm still reviewing what I read in May!
DeleteIf you don't want to only read one at a time, try reading multiple books like me! I always have an audiobook, a physical copy, a comic, and an electronic book going at the same time. Sometimes more than that! I love bouncing around between stories I'm enjoying, and sometimes it's hard to choose what I want to read, but it's great for my mood reading. Occasionally, one is so good I have to only read it until I'm finished!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your week of reading! I hope you're able to read everything you want.

Oh no, I can't read a pile of books at one time! EEK! I can maybe read a non fiction and fiction at one time but generally I prefer one at a time! I get why it would work for you as a mood reader-I bet you zoom through stuff!
DeleteSounds like you've had a great week! I'm going to go check out Who Goes There and Wild Life. They look cool and they're new authors for me. Have an awesome weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'm already planning a pile of horror reads for October which is going to be very exciting! Jeff Menapace sounds like my kind of author!
DeleteI'm glad you enjoyed RPO! Now that you've reminded me of it, I want to see the movie again :)
ReplyDelete~Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum
I'm surprised how much I liked it! I enjoyed the 80's theme and the worldbuilding and the characters were great! I'm really looking forward to seeing the film!
DeleteYes fall is approaching and it's such a good time for creepy reads. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the look of Chills! And The LAst One...
My next two months reading will have a ton of horror! I didn't enjoy The Last One at all. It was pretty dull with too much description about the inane tasks in the game before the disaster. DNF!!!
DeleteOoh, those look like some creepy covers! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI always love a good horror cover!
DeleteYou could always do what I do and juggle reading a few at a time. Might not be as easy for fiction though, it would probably be easier to mix up characters and plots. At least with non-fiction, I am reading about a variety of topics at a time so no real possibility for confusion. When I kind of hit a lull in one or start to lose interest, I just hop to the next book and come back later.
ReplyDeleteI've never liked reading more than one book at a time, especially fiction. It's not about confusing the plots as I take notes on what I'm reading as I go along. It's more that I just like to focus on one story before I go onto something else!
DeleteI know just what you mean, Chuckles! I have so many books that I cannot wait to read but I have to pick one (or sometimes two) at a time. I don't know that I will ever get to them all. Enjoy your new books! It looks like you added some great ones this week.
ReplyDeleteI need to clone myself or get a timeturner...then maybe I can catch up! I'm hoping the rest of the year goes well and I can make a bit of a dent!
DeleteYou got some creepers this week LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the covers for Red Creek and The Dreams and Chills. Gotta check them out! Hope all is well.
ReplyDeleteMary
There are some really great books just waiting for me this year!
DeleteSorry to hear you're not feeling well but hopefully you're getting lots of rest. It is crazy how quickly this year seems to be going. I need it to slow down!
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling much better thanks! I think a few nights of good sleep has sorted me out. This year is going too fast and not letting me get enough read.
