Top Ten Tuesday-Best of 2017

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish in June 2010. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!  http://www.brokeandbookish.com/

NB: I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow them to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account.

This week it's the Top Ten Books of 2017! (no set order)

1) Michael Stephen Fuchs-Arisen series
This is such a great zombie series that I can't choose just one for this list! Exodus is the best of the series for me but I gave them all five stars!

2) Nicholas Sansbury Smith-Extinction series
Another zombie type series where you can't pick just one. I had to choose them all!

3) Jack Kilborn-Trapped
Another fast paced brutal horror read. Loved it!

4) Hunter Shea-Swamp Monster Massacre
A tribe of Bigfoots decide to massacre some boat crah survivors in the swamps. A typical gory horror offering!

5) William R Forstchen-Day of Wrath
An IS terrorist attack on schools across America is the start of a day that nobody will ever forget. Excellent thriller!

6) George RR Martin-A Song of Ice And Fire
This year I've read A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings and both parts of A Storm of Swords and loved them. Very hard to pick when I gave them all five stars but ASOS part two was special!

7) Kenneth Cary-Curtain Call
A man has a few days to get his family ready for the Yellowstone supervolcano exploding. I liked this apocalypse story and plan to read the rest .

8) Matthew D Mark-Dark Days Rough Roads
The apocalypse sends a group of family and friends for a save haven in a rural area but find powerful locals have formed a militia to terrorise the town. It's time to fight back!

9) Ben S Reeder-Zompoc
Another great zombie road trip adventure. This is the first of a trilogy and I plan to read the rest of it during the winter.

10) Eric Methven-EMP
An apocalyse novel set in a Scottish town where the community must work together to survive. Can't find a sequel or a paperback copy though.

  1. Hunter Shea made my list too - although it's a different book. I am so excited to read the Orca book. It's been too long since I read anything by him (September I think).

    1. The Orca book is coming in the post today hopefully! I read and enjoyed Optical Delusions and my dad is going through all the books I haven't read yet. I need to grab them back maybe for a horror themed month.

    1. I'm actually doing well with A Feast for Crows now that I have some motivation back. I'm planning A Dance With Dragons for the New Year. Just wish there was news on The Winds of Winter!

  3. book 1 of the Extinction series has expired TWICE on me because I had this crazy idea I had to finish the year with a good NetGalley ratio [I know I know... WHY do I imposed these things on myself?? I would never know LOL ]

so I gave ARCs a priority BUT I requested it again and is coming!

The library lady already thinks I'm crazy so LOL
