Three Things About Me:

1) I am a bit agoraphobic. I don't greatly like going out when I can stay in my warm house and blog, read and sloth around. I do go out when I have things to do but I can get anxious about it.

2) If I was living on a desert island I could happily live on a diet of cheese and chocolate! There had better be cheese and chocolate trees if I'm washed ashore...

3) Winter is my favourite time of year-stuffing myself with food, hibernating away from crowds of mad shoppers and Christmas music, watching cricket and darts on TV, cuddling up in bed with a good book or watching a nice DVD!

A link to my best post? Er, this is a difficult one. I think your blog viewers are a better judge of that! So I'm picking the book review I wrote that got the most pageviews on blogger.

Greg's questions:

1) What is your favourite show?
I am a Game of Thrones fanatic and it's my favourite ever TV show. I live and breathe it and do weekly posts on my blog about it.

2) Who is your favourite music artist?
I don't have a specific favourite but I like 60's-80's music, motown, rock, soul, metal and country. I really don't like techno, garage, rap, house and dance music. The Beatles are high on my favourite list though and I like some Elvis, Rolling Stones, Kinks, Abba...

3) Your favourite book of the year?
I've read some good ones but the best quality has been the George RR Martin books, especially A Storm of Swords part two...that was a great book!

4) What attracts you more-a great book cover or a great book blurb?
It has to be blurb. I do like a pretty cover as it is nicer to look at but the blurb is more important in getting me to decide whether or not to read a book. I won't reject an interesting blurb because the book has a bad cover but I will reject a pretty cover if I don't like the sound of the story!

5) You're stuck on a desert island-what five book characters would you pick to join you?
Hmm, I would need interesting company and people capable of the work required.
Tyrion Lannister-intelligent, well-read, lots of Westeros stories to entertain
Sirius Black-can do magic which would be handy for fires, expanding food supplies etc
John Locke-he's a survivalist and can deal with any weird island
House elves-to do their wonderful cooking with what we scavenge
Jon Snow-capable, has a useful sword, good company, no longer knows nothing...

My questions to you:
1) What would be the books you'd want with you if stranded on a desert island?
2) What five possessions can you not live without? (no people or animals!)
3) Which TV shows do you love most?
4) Which is your favourite season?
5) Which 12 celebrities would be on your ideal calendar?

  1. I’d take all those people (and elves) to an island with me. That would be an awesome island. I just got Ararat, and I’m excited to read it.

    1. Yeah I like being surrounded by my books and cuddly toys and a nice warm house to feel happy in. I could easily become one of those reclusive preppers living in a rural stronghold...if I win the lottery!
