Welcome to my new feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!
Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!

This week has been chaos! The new sofa and chair came yesterday and thankfully everything is ok with it other than being too soft and comfy that I can't get up from it! But I managed to take the wrong measurement from the website so in a panic we have spent the whole week moving furniture and assorted crap...it is a bit of a disaster zone right about now with my computer desk out in the middle of the dang floor!!! I can't find a space for it or the other chair! Not sure what to do about it yet! Ah well, that's what I get for looking at the wrong thing...doh! On the bright side though, the pains in my jaw, ear and head are gone so looks like it was sinusitus right enough. I can't say how relieved I am about that.
Grabbed a couple of downloads this week but haven't had much time online this week with all the panic clearing up! I plan to get around to blog visits tomorrow and I hope for a quiet winter from now on. I did get a pile of samples looked at this week and read a Hunter Shea short story and a good few chapters from A Feast For Crows. If I get it done by years end I'll count it as a win. I reached my 200 book Goodreads goal so I'm happy with that. Now I can concentrate on starting my roundup posts for the year and what I'll be doing next year. Time is running out on me I think! I hope to get reading a bit this week.

Slow going this week with the sofa stuff going on and not much time online but I'll be on catchup this weekend, and next week I plan to have blogged ahead all my regular posts for into the New Year-gives me more time to watch the cricket and darts! And cook all the food I've stockpiled...! Erk. As usual I've left links for each post from last week for anyone who missed anything. Apologies for being slow to catch up on comments left on the blog this week.

Book Challenge Updates
I finally hit my Goodreads Challenge of 200 which is a miracle with all the slumps I've had this year. *happy dance*

Currently Reading/Next Up
*guffaws* Have I mentioned I'm still on A Feast For Crows? I plan to get stuck into it this week...as I say every week. It's weird not having Jon, Dany, Tyrion, Davos...but I am liking the added POV of Cersei.
Next Week on the blog
I'll be sharing more samples and visiting blogs as normal. Cover Love is Emma L Adams, Top Ten Tuesday is the best of 2017, Can't Wait Wednesday is a book I've just grabbed, Game of Thrones Gossip looks at Tyrion Lannister and Chuckles Chat looks at how long books are on our tbrs. In my case, forever...
Congrats on finishing your Goodreads goal! I’m glad you’re feeling better. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I need a good sleep though...too many mornings getting up early in case Amazon delivers!
DeleteI want to read The Squirrel On The Train. That series looks like loads of fun. Hunter's book was fun. I just grabbed his new one, Fury Of The Orcas. I downsized houses when I moved and had to get rid of so much stuff. No amount of measuring would let it fit. Hope you figure things out while relaxing on that comfy new sofa and it's good news about your sinusitis clearing up:)
ReplyDeleteI just ordered the orcas and hope to get it in a few days. Now I need to get on with reading them! Gah my computer desk is abandoned in the middle of the floor like a massive island obstacle and we don't have a solution yet. I might need to leave it like this until the festives are over!
DeleteHappy weekend! Sorry to hear about the furniture issues- that sounds stressful. Hope it all works out for you soon and you can enjoy the new stuff! Good luck with Feast for Crows too- I know exactly what you mean, those missing POV's thre me off too.
ReplyDeleteMy own stupid fault for not measuring before we bought! It is comfy though. I've enjoyed AFFC in what I've read but I just can't get motivated to read anything. I do want it finished before new year though!
DeleteYay, I hope you enjoy The Squirrel on the Train. I agree, the price for the physical edition is ridiculous, but I think it's because the publisher Subterranean Press only puts out high-end, limited collector's editions. Good thing their ebooks are more reasonable!

I'm not greatly impressed that the author wants to fleece us by choosing a deal with a company like that! I love Oberon but no way am I paying it!
DeleteI hope you get the furniture situation figured out without too much trouble. It is always a pain when things don't work out the way you thought they would. Glad you are feeling better. Have a great week, Chuckles!
ReplyDeleteI'm at my wits end! We're going to have to move a lot of things that need emptied and neither of us have the energy right now! I suppose we should get on with it but I don't want to! *groans and laughs* I am feeling better though which is a relief. Have a good week too!
DeleteCongrats on the new furniture. Hope you get things situated to your liking. Did you know Hunter Shea just released new book? It's something about killed Orcas. I got to get it soon. Have a great week my friend!
ReplyDeleteI've got it ordered from Amazon! It's due in a few days and it's pretty exciting! There is a solution to the furniture issue but it does mean moving everything and I can't be bothered right now!
DeleteNice haul! The Squirrel on the Train looks fun! I hope to read a Kevin Hearne book next year, I just know I won't get to it this month :p Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteI'll be finishing up with Kevin Hearne next year! Well, the Iron Druid series anyway. I don't fancy the new giant one much.
DeleteI have to catch on up Hunter Shea. Squirrel on a Train sounds like a hoot.
ReplyDeletesherry @ fundinmental Sunday Memes
Out of his stand alone books I still have at least six to read which I'll get to this year. I hope the Oberon spinoffs are fun too!
DeleteI am intrigued -- The Squirrel on the Train?! Sounds weird... Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteOberon is my favourite fictional dog and he has a hatred for squirrels!
