Chuckles Weekend Roundup

Welcome to my feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!

Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!

It seriously can't be time for another roundup-where is the summer going? I've been busy with painting and the dentist again but I'm finishing the week feeling ok and ready to get more stuff done-after a few days of catch up on the computer! I've been doing a reasonable amount of reading though a few of the books have been a bit meh, which hasn't been a lot of fun. I'm hoping for better reading over the weekend and maybe a chance to look at a film or two. No mass buying sprees book wise so I'm keeping the TBR under semi control. These books featured today were bought several weeks ago and I'm just getting them added to my TBR now.

Chuckles Blogging World
I have now concluded my Chuckles Cover Love posts as I'm struggling with topics and it has become very time consuming. Otherwise it is business as usual on the blog.

This week I watched more of Masterchef Australia which is almost at the end of season 11, and The Open has been on in the background as I get on with my blogging. I did get a few films watched though.

Currently Reading/Next Up
I'm in the middle of some mood reading which is making it hard to predict what I'm going to read so I only got Starfall Muta read out of the three I picked out last week. Instead, I concentrated on reading the final books in two apocalypse series to get them finished. I'm pleased to get a couple more series ticked off! This week...I'm not really sure what I feel like! I'll MAYBE read these three!

  1. I was in summer reading mode outside Bristol earlier this week, but now Buxton is cold, rainy and misty so I'll need autumnal reads :-(

    1. It is still warm here but I just saw a weather warning for heavy rain until Tuesday! Looks like no painting next week for Chuckles at the moment!

    1. I've been pretty restrained all year which is great. I'm retraining myself to not buy ALL the books!

  3. Yep, this year seems to be absolutely zooming along! Before you know it, it will next year already :-)

    1. Argghh! It's all going too fast! As long as my TBR is down at a reasonable number by year end I'll be ok...then a brand new target for next year!

  4. The year is flying past! We'll be talking Christmas before you can blink! (I'm not complaining though... I love Autumn and the run up to Christmas!)

  5. The summer can go a bit faster if it keeps being so stickily warm. I don't mind sun, but this...! XD

Here's hoping you get some good reads in over the weekend!

    1. I hate that sticky heat! I go into grumpy sloth mode! The last few reads have been less enthusing so I'm hoping for better tonight!

    1. I still seem motivated to read even in this hot weather so I'm pleased with that!

  7. The summer is flying by and I feel like I am behind in all my summer projects. Including writing reviews. With only one day off a week, I find it hard to commit all of that day to catching up. Time for me to get back on track and do things on the days i work too. LOL

    1. My new plan is to try to get the reviews written the day after I read them and then post them as I need them. It's good in theory but the reality is harder! With the lack of time you have, it'll be tough just keeping on top of things!

  8. Aww sorry to hear about Cover Love. And I hope your reading picks up over the weekends- meh reads can be a bummer!

Love that cover of And darkness Fell. Something about a road at night, under the stars...

    1. Cover Love posts will still appear the odd time when I come across pretty covers but I can't keep it up as a regular thing at the moment! Apocalypse books can be a lot of fun to look at!

    1. I'm glad I included so many genres in my summer reading list-it has let me do my mood reading while still sticking to the plan! I'm already putting together my Autumn choices!
