Chuckles Chuntering

It's been a bit of a tiring week overall!. On Monday the weather was great so I got outside and did the first coat for half of the fence on the right side of our garden. It was 24 degrees and I was suffering as it took nearly four hours to do. The weather was cooler on Tuesday so I did the second coat of that part of the fence. While I'm happy that I've got something done, it looks weird with half the fence faded red and other this nice shade of raspberry! Hopefully over the weekend or next week, I can get out and have two nice days to finish that fence off. The big problem is the uneven ground which makes it hard to sit on my footstool to paint-my back couldn't deal with standing up to do it all! Still, there is progress!

The builder/gardener that did our fence will be coming back to look at what we need to do in the back garden but he does have a lot of work on this summer so I don't know when he can fit us in. We have to get the bottom third of the garden de-weeded and concreted to stop these blasted weeds coming up every year. Then we need the sides of our patio thing weedproofed and plum slate to decorate, and finally a few minor repairs on the newly painted old fence and more slate around the decorative bushes in the garden. Not anything difficult or too time consuming. I really want the work done before winter. Things like painting the garden fence and varnishing the other fence I can do, along with trimming a few bushes back. It'll be great to get it all done after all these years!

Yesterday was a day of rest and lots of aches and pains to moan about! Today it was my latest dentist appointment and it went fine. Just two more procedures and I'm done! The next one is an extraction which gives me three weeks to dread it! Between that and the first Ashes test for the cricket, I'll be a nervous wreck!!!

Tomorrow I'll be doing my weekend post and catching up with blog visits and comments. I'm hoping for a nice chilled out day.

Any plans for the weekend?

    1. I'm so not a garden person! I hate bugs with lots of legs or ones that fly in your face! I'm happier staying indoors during summer!

    1. Oh Mary I can't wait to get it all done so I don't have to look at the mess! It's combining time and money with the weather that is the problem!

  3. Sounds like you are getting a lot of work done! I am glad that your dental work is going well. My daughter just found out she has a cavity and is a bit nervous about it but I am sure that it will go well as your extraction will.

  4. Sounds like you made great progress! And I'm glad an end is in sight for your dental work! It's supposed to be majorly hot so other than visiting Gpa, I hope to hang out in the AC with a fan on me, a dog beside me and a book in my hands!

  6. No big plans here, except that tonight there is a FRIENDS trivia night and I am super excited because I have been waiting for one of these for ages. I have also been preparing for such an event for 25 years, literally (I started watching FRIENDS from the first season, I was like, 11. Don't Judge, lol.) Other than that I am just reading and writing while Eleanor is at her dad's this weekend.

Post a picture of this beautiful fence when you're done, I want to see all your hard work!

    1. I saw most of the series except the last few. I always meant to catch up but never quite got round to it. I always loved Chandler and Joey! I'll be posting progress on the garden as soon as we get the builders in! I so much just want to get it done!
