Welcome to my feature Chuckles Weekend Roundup where I will be looking at what books I've received, anything interesting I've done or bought or watched and other random stuff. I'll be taking a look back at what happened in my blogging world too, sort of like The Sunday Post that some of you do!
Please note that I'll be visiting your STS/SP as normal, but I don't follow or leave comments on blogs run by Google Plus, or DISQUS as I refuse to join something just to leave comments, and I won't allow DISQUS to follow new people, update my profile or post tweets 'on my behalf'. I am the only one who does that on my social media! I won't comment on any blog that makes me sign in using another account. Sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me because I deleted my account with them but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!

Another tiring week goes by. I have done another bit of the front fence but had to give up when I had a flare up of tennis elbow in one elbow joint and a flare up of bursitis in the other so I can't grip a paintbrush or roller. It's frustrating because we're in a spell of good weather for getting stuff like that done. On the bright side my dad got an injection in his knee which is taking away the worst of his pain but he now thinks he's an Avenger or something and I have to stop him trying to do too much. I know how he feels though as I just want to get things done and out of the way. We'll gradually get there.
I did do some reading this week which was offset by treating myself to a few creature feature downloads that I wanted! I mean you HAVE to treat yourself to the odd dinosaur, shark and sea monster, don't you! It's practically a law! That'll probably wreck the TBR numbers for this week but I don't care as I got monsters!!! I'm excited for episode two of Game of Thrones this week and Dany better not kill Jaime or I'll be mad! This week was also taken up with the joy of deep cleaning the washing machine which took three days to deal with sludge build up and measuring the windows ready for the stained glass stickers to go up. We're waiting on quite a few packages of paint, varnish, sanding machine and other assorted stuff so that means muggins up early every morning in case a delivery comes!

I'm trying to locate online episodes of Spartan Ultimate Team Challenge and Ultimate Beastmaster at the moment but not really watching anything. I need to start getting films looked at though-and a few box sets!

I did finish reading Battle Scars which was a decent read and I moved right on to some short stories, completing War Mage, No God is Safe, Roger Ascham and the King's Lost Girl, Moorehead Manor and The Squad. It gets a few off the TBR! I'm sticking with the mood reading so I'm not sure what to start tonight with. I might try and get a few apocalypse series looked at to see if they are worth continuing with, as I need shelf space.
I hope your elbows feel better soon! I’m so excited for episode 2 of GOT. That show is the only thing getting me through life right now. All of the characters are going to the same place, so somebody’s going to die. I’m not ready!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
The tennis elbow will go in a few days with the gel I have for it but it never works with the bursitis! For that you need total rest and that isn't happening anytime soon! I'm not ready for the Battle of Winterfell either-I'm already fretting!
DeleteBusy bee so yes you deserve a a few creature feature treats!
ReplyDeleteKaren @ For What It's Worth
That was my excuse anyway! And it is only a few *ahem* ebooks. Well, let's say it'll take a few weeks to upload them all!!!
DeleteBusy, busy! I hope you feel better and can get that work done. It haunts me too when the weather is right and I can't get to something. Space Sharks! Got to check that out. In fact, I'll check out all those books. I need some creature stories.
ReplyDeleteSpace Sharks sounds like a mindless dumb read so I had to get it! The weather is meant to turn here at the start of the week so I'm pleased to get that second coat on the front fence done! I'm just waiting for the paint to arrive to let me get started on the other fence in the front garden!
DeleteHope your elbow feels better soon!
ReplyDeleteA day or two of rest and I'll be ready to go again!
DeleteI am so HYPED for the next episode of Game of Thrones. I can't believe we're only getting a couple more episodes until it's done... FORVEVER!!
ReplyDeleteElle Inked @ Keep on Reading
It seems insane doesn't it! I'm on my last nerve this week with the battle episode next. I just hope it isn't too dark to see anything on screen as I hate night battles!
DeleteMy dad got a few cortisone shots in his shoulder when he had a bursitis attack years ago. It seemed to help. Glad to hear your dad is feeling better.
ReplyDeleteHe can walk without pain now which is good but I'm nagging him to rest his knee more! He's trying to do too much!
DeleteI mean you HAVE to treat yourself to the odd dinosaur, shark and sea monster, don't you! It's practically a law!
ReplyDelete100%! It's the law of Chuckles! ;)
Exactly! Some booky rules just have to be followed!
DeleteI am so sorry that you have been having trouble with your elbows. My husband gets bursitis and I know that it is really painful. Yay for treating yourself to some new goodies :) Wasn't GoT amazing?! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThe bursitis is just so annoying but there is no time to rest it right now...it can get some rest in the summer!
DeleteSorry about the pain. I know how that can be with a bum knee. Who does't love a some new stuff. I hope you feel better and I love when I mood read usually it means I read a lot. =)
ReplyDeleteMary
My mood reading has been lacking a bit but this week has been pretty good so far and I hope for a good weekend!
