Books From The Backlog-Elemental Assassin

Books from the Backlog is a fun way to feature some of those neglected books sitting on your bookshelf.  You might be surprised by some of the unread books hiding in your stacks. Go to Carole's blog and add your blog post link in to join in the fun! Hosted by Carole at https://carolesrandomlife.blogspot.co.uk/

This seems like a fun feature and I have been planning to take part since Carole launched this so at last, here we go! I have a TON of unread books to choose from in various genres and I'm looking forward to sharing some of them with everybody.

My name is Gin, and I kill people.

They call me the Spider. I'm the most feared assassin in the South — when I'm not busy at the Pork Pit cooking up the best barbecue in Ashland. As a Stone elemental, I can hear everything from the whispers of the gravel beneath my feet to the vibrations of the soaring Appalachian Mountains above me. My Ice magic also comes in handy for making the occasional knife. But I don't use my powers on the job unless I absolutely have to. Call it professional pride.

Now that a ruthless Air elemental has double-crossed me and killed my handler, I'm out for revenge. And I'll exterminate anyone who gets in my way — good or bad. I may look hot, but I'm still one of the bad guys. Which is why I'm in trouble, since irresistibly rugged Detective Donovan Caine has agreed to help me. The last thing this coldhearted killer needs when I'm battling a magic more powerful than my own is a sexy distraction... especially when Donovan wants me dead just as much as the enemy.

I first read this book way back in the summer of 2011 and really enjoyed it. Since then I have watched all the books in the series come out and it looks like the total might be headed for 20! I really do need to get reading this series as I'm so far behind it isn't funny!

  1. Don't you hate when you get that far behind in a series?

    1. Oh yes! I bought the first one soon after it came out, read and liked it, then grabbed the next few but never got back to the series. It'll be a long series catchup now! I'll leave that for next year!

  2. I think that I have almost this whole series and haven't read a single one. Good to know that you enjoyed the first one!

    1. It's depressing isn't it! I do need to take back control and catch up with all these series but I'm struggling to want to read UF at the moment!

  3. I can relate to being far behind in the series. It's so annoying - especially on series that I really enjoy but am stalling on reading for whatever reason.

    1. I've been struggling to find the mood to read all these urban fantasy series I want to catch up with-must get them done by the end of the year! I've got so many series in all my genres to catch up with!

  4. I have not started reading this series and can't believe that it has been out since 2011. I think I remember this coming out...Ughh, old Mary. I should start it but it seems intimidating now that they are up to 20.

    1. It does make it a long serious to catch up with so I'm sort of dreading getting started with it!
