Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews
Stacking The Shelves is all about
sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical
or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store
or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books,
gifts and of course ebooks! Click on the link under the book to find its page on Goodreads or Smashwords.
Please note that I always leave a
message on your STS/SP if you visit me, but if you use
DISQUS or a similar third party I will not be able to leave a comment on your page. And
sometimes,
I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by
Wordpress so you might get a double message sometimes! Blame them, not me!
This week, I wasn't feeling 100% and had no interest in reading, blogging or anything much so I decided to have a rest and get some TV watched instead. So I've had a few days of watching season one of Elementary and the first 12 episodes from the 60's of classic Coronation Street. So that has been fun! It doesn't help the book tbr but at least I wasn't online enough to buy much so it's a small haul this week! The urban fantasy books I expected from Amazon are delayed so hopefully they'll be on next week's haul.
I've never read anything by Simon R Green though I've seen his books around for years so I grabbed the first book in three different series that he wrote, so I can see if I like them. Not sure when I'll get around to reading them but it was a good grab! BookBub sent me the notification of Darkbound going cheap on Amazon so I grabbed it for under £1-another author I've never tried. I also grabbed the anthology for 99p which was a good bargain! I also bought some dvd bargains as well as I needed cheering up!!!

I keep meaning to try Simon R. Green's work! Looking forward to your reviews...
ReplyDeleteIt's been AGES since I posted a review! I hope to get back on track this week but I feel so lazy these days!
DeleteI hope you're feeling better, Chuckles! No fun when you don't feel like doing anything, even if you picked some good TV shows to keep you company.
ReplyDeleteYour This is the End bundle looks really good, I hope you'll enjoy your new books.
Have a great weekend and happy reading.

I think tonight I might try another TV series or I might continue watching season one of Elementary. I guess it'll depend on my mood later! It's always nice to discover something new on TV to enjoy even if it means ignoring the books for a while!
DeleteWhile I have a few of those series on my TBR list, so far the only thing I've read from Green is his Deathstalker books, which are a crazy sort of Star Wars/Epic Fantasy/Blade Runner type of crossover.
ReplyDeleteIt's weird...I love watching these big sci-fi films on TV but I very rarely read a sci-fi book! Most don't appeal to me which seems odd with my film tastes. Ah well, I've given up trying to make sense out of myself!!!
DeleteI hope you're feeling much more like reading soon! It sucks when you're not in the mood to read! :-) Thanks for stopping by my blog as always!
ReplyDeleteIt's worse when you can't be bothered doing anything so I'm grateful I got something productive done! I'm planning another lazy TV night but haven't decided what to watch yet...
DeleteThis is the End anthology of books in that box set looks mighty appealing. Have never read any of Simon R. Green. Great haul.

I like box sets going cheap! There were a couple of authors in it I wanted to try so at that price, it was a pretty good deal!
DeleteI really like "Elementary". The first season was the best but I've been enjoying the recent episodes too. Happy reading!

I'm glad to hear that it keeps up a good standard! I'm itching to get my hands on the dvd box set but I'm determined to wait until it comes down in price first!
DeleteNice haul! I've always wanted to read something by Simon R. Green. I actually own Something from the Nightside and The Man with the Golden Torc, but haven't gotten to them yet. Maybe one day. I hope you enjoy them. I'll be on the lookout for reviews! Have a great weekend!

I'm worried about when I'll get to most of the books in my recent hauls! I can't resist grabbing new bargains before I read what I already have! I guess I'll get to them at some point...(I hope!!!)
DeleteSorry to hear that you are not feeling well. I hope you get better soon. I have seen Green's books as well over the years and just haven't gotten around to getting or reading any of them, my tbr pile is majorly high and well, I'm sure you know. Thanks for sharing and hope you enjoy you new reads.

Oh yes, I know about out of control tbr shelves! *giggles* Actually it's ME that's out of control more than the shelves...I blame the authors for all these new books they keep writing! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteHope you feel better soon. I have always considered reading Green 's work to see if I like it. There sure seem to be a lot f them. I have been stuck on the same book all week and need to get it done - A Court of Thornes and Roses, so my week hasn't been productive either.
ReplyDeleteI hate unproductive weeks! You look back and think 'what did I actually DO last week?' and it seems to just be housework or stuff like that!
DeleteThe books by Simon R. Green sounds really good! Will have to check them out soon!
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to check them out for years!!! I'm so bad at getting round to things like that!
DeleteHi Chuckles,
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good haul! I hope you're feeling better soon, I always feel outta sorts when I'm not reading.
Have a great day,
Amy x
I've been enjoying my tv catch ups but I feel guilty that the tbr is not reducing!
DeleteI really really need to try green. The books sound really interesting. happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThe stories certainly sound interesting so fingers crossed!
DeleteI know how you feel. Instead of reading, I've found myself catching up on Supernatural. Sometimes watching something is a needed break from reading.
ReplyDeleteI saw the first five episodes of Supernatural season one and loved it...have not got round to watching the rest of it yet though!
DeleteDarkbound sounds good. Like the cover.
ReplyDeleteI like the thought of trying another new author! It's pretty exciting...
DeleteI have some of Green's books, too. But like you, I have no idea when I'll get to them. lol I hope you're feeling better. Though tv marathons are always fun, too. Especially when the brain just needs to veg for a bit. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying my tv but I might be enjoying it too much! I can't be bothered picking up a book!
DeleteSometimes we all need to just kick our feet up and watch tv. :) Hope you are feeling better this week.
ReplyDeleteI'm just a bit tired and fed up at the moment-everything feels like too much of an effort! I think it might be this warmer spell of weather making me feel a bit sluggish...
