Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews
Stacking The Shelves is all about
sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical
or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store
or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books,
gifts and of course ebooks! Click on the link under the book to find its page on Goodreads or Smashwords.
Please note that I always leave a
message on your STS/SP if you visit me, but if you use
DISQUS or a similar third party I will not be able to leave a comment on your page. And
sometimes,
I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by
Wordpress so you might get a double message sometimes! Blame them, not me!
I've had another pretty quiet week overall as the lack of blog posts would suggest. The warm weather we had the last few days has sucked out all my energy and I just couldn't be bothered doing anything. I really hate when we get warm weather as it just doesn't agree with me! It's warm again today but dull so I hope it cools down. Oh how I look forward to winter!!!
I've managed to stop spending on books! I didn't buy a single book this week which was good so my small haul is just the books I ordered from Amazon two weeks ago-the ones that were delayed. I haven't read a single thing this week either! I've been relaxing in front of the TV and just recharging my inner batteries and I'm not going to stress about it! Maybe during the week I'll grab a book off the shelf if I feel like it but I have plans to try out a couple of TV series I have taped. I've been neglecting my TV viewing for a couple of years now! I'm also going to be uploading more blog posts for my Corrie Mania-I have a ton of reviewed episodes to talk about!

Hmm, those both look like interesting titles - love the cover on Pennies.
ReplyDeleteI found these browsing around the Amazon recommendations and thought they sounded interesting. Lets hope they are as good as they look!
DeleteBoth of your new books look great, Chuckles! I hope you'll enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteI can relate with being slow and sluggish when it's hot... I do enjoy summer, but I prefer being close to the sea when it's really warm. We've had really hot weather, too, and every day this week we were supposed to get rain and storms, but that just never happened.
Have a great weekend :)

I think in my DNA I may be part sloth! I agree, I like sitting near water in better weather-it soothes me and you usually get a nice breeze from it. Makes me want to run off to Blackpool right now!
DeleteI haven't heard of either of these, but hope you enjoy them! I went off the rails a bit this week and ended up with over 100 books! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I'm impressed by your book grabbing! I'm setting myself a target to read another 100 books by the end of the year to get my tbr going in the right direction again but I'm struggling to get started with it!
DeleteGreat books, I like the cover for Bleak History. I should really slow down on my book buying, but I just can't seem to stop myself when I find a deal. lol
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy your time in front of the TV.
I've been trying to control my book buying for years but doing a poor job of it! This is the first small haul I've had in months! I really do need to grab a book tonight and start reading...
DeleteI haven't posted much this week either. I'm on vacation (a staycation) but I refused to spend all my time writing reviews. Happy reading!

I guess I could claim to be having a holiday to make me feel better about doing nothing! Tonight I really do need to get reading again...it's been nearly two weeks since I read anything and I need to get that tbr down by 100 books by the end of this year!
DeleteI think I commented earlier and then forgot to actually press publish on the comment. So yeah, I was gonna say that I think I have both of these on my list -- definitely the second one! -- and I hope they are good!
ReplyDeleteI was intrigued by both of these when I found them on Amazon...I love finding new authors to try! Now I just need to get motivated to get them all read...!
DeleteWay to go! Great self control! I have none, lol. I'd actually love to spend a week catching up on tv. I rarely get to watch anymore. Enjoy your new books and good luck making your way through your tbr pile!

To be honest I can't really claim self control this week...I was too lazy to go looking for books to grab this week! I hope that continues for a few more weeks so I can do a bit of catching up with my reading!
DeleteBleak History looks great. I might have to check it out. Enjoy your down time.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, I've spent most of my relaxation time worrying about my lack of reading! I need to get blogging, reading etc this week-the holiday is over!!!
DeleteOooh Bleak History and Pennies for the Ferryman sound really good. I don't know why but reading the synopsis for both books made me grin. And I'm not supposed to buy anymore books. Grrr!
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading!
I told myself no book buying this summer...I should be grateful I've managed to be good for one week so far!
DeleteI'm glad you've had time to chill out :D everyone needs a break sometimes. I wouldn't be able to go without buying books :-/ kudos!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day,
Amy x
I've already failed...I bought two paperbacks on Amazon this afternoon! I'm HOPELESS!
DeleteIdidn't know about these two but I'm curious about the first one I confess. happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of them either. I found them trolling through Amazon recommendations and couldn't resist...!
DeleteWe had warm weather here, but not too warm, which is what I like. When it's too warm to do anything it's annoying. Although it also helsp that I can just sit still behind my computer the whole day. I hope the weather where you live cools down a bit soon. Oh that's nice you were able not to buy any new books. I like pre-ordering books and waitign till they arrive, it's always fun when your ordered books finally arrive. Have a rgeat week and enjoy your enw books!
ReplyDeleteMy good intentions about book buying lasted one whole week...I ordered two from Amazon yesterday! *sigh*
DeleteCongrats on controlling the book buying. Between ARCs and the library I never seem to buy ant. I should keep track of what I save and go on a big trip!
ReplyDeleteI have problems leaving comments on blogger when I use my laptop, but no problems with the iPad. Isn't that weird? And it was a problem even when I was on Blogger. It doesn't happen on blogs where the comment window opens separately. Here's my post. http://eviloverlordthoughts.com/weekly-wrap-up-613/
Let's see if you can leave a comment! lol
Computers are meant to make things easier aren't they...but sometimes I could throw mine through a window when it plays up!!!
DeleteSometimes we even need a break from something we love to do. No shame in that. I've been slowly catching up on Supernatural - I was 4 seasons behind.
ReplyDeleteI'm still on season one of Supernatural! I've only watched the first five episodes! I liked it enough to buy the other box sets though so I'll get caught up at some point!
DeleteBoth look so mysterious! Have fun reading.
ReplyDeleteI'm certainly looking forward to both of them!
DeleteI think I might have Bleak History. I think. I'll have to look now. I know the feeling about not spending. I've been trying really hard to not spend as we are a bit tight here. But sometimes it happens. ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to show book buying restraint when you can click a button on Amazon and just buy something!
