Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews
Stacking The Shelves is all about
sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical
or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store
or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books,
gifts and of course ebooks!
This was another week of chaos and upheaval. On Tuesday my mum developed another infection so that has taken up a lot of my time this week. Plus I am in dispute with Royal Mail about a package they have not delivered, my dvd drive on the computer is on the fritz and I'm coming down with some sort of viral infection. I haven't read ANYTHING this week, not a single page! So much for the start of my Summer Readathon! I think this week is going to be pretty similar and I'm not letting myself buy anything until I sort this Royal Mail crap.
On the book purchase side of things, the rest of the books I bought in the big splurge arrived which was quite exciting!

Ooh, those look like a whole lot of kick ass heroines going by the covers. Just checking out Darkness Haunts on Goodreads now, it sounds pretty good. I don't usually stray too far from YA, but will be giving this one a go.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a horrid week, I hope you and your mum feel better soon and the post gets their act together and sorts your lost parcel out. We've got shockingly slow service in Australia too, if your parcels ever arrive :(
It was those huge metal boxes for storing 1000 cds or dvds in them...I ordered two from the company, both were sent, one arrived Tuesday and the other has vanished. HOW can you lose something that big and heavy??? Stupid post!
Deleteyou always have the most intriguing covers! I hope you'll enjoy them all. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI just love finding books with great covers-so much nicer to look at!
DeleteLooks like some action packed goodies! Enjoy. I would like to read Anointed.
ReplyDeleteOur Stacking the Shelves
Anointed was on my wishlist for a while but I just treated myself! It is a great cover...I like those female kickass covers!
DeleteHuzzah, lots of spunky reads this week, eh?! I haven't heard/read any of them, but so cool you scored a freebie. But I hope next week is better for you. :|
ReplyDeleteMy StS!
I'm pleased with this weeks covers! STS looks so much better if the covers are cool. I'm struggling not to treat myself to something to make up for a crap week!
DeleteSounds like you've had a really bad week! I had a problem with Royal Mail this week too, they insisted that there wasn't enough postage on an item I bought on ebay, it was a Kinder Surprise pod in a small envelope. I ended up paying over £3 in fees from them! They later admitted that they were in the wrong and sent me stamps as a reimbursement. So at least there's that. Still waiting on two packages from them that I'm now going to have to wait until Tuesday for.
ReplyDelete(Oops, sorry for ranting! I guess RM has been getting on my nerves lately)
Under The Mountain
Yeah it'll be Tuesday before I can go to the Sorting Office to make my complaint. If the postman aren't stealing your mail it is 'somewhere in the system'-that excuse really annoys me. Look like RM will have a nice day on Tuesday from both of us...
Deleteyou can find the most amazing books for free. These covers look so action-packed. Yes I enjoy covers. Thanks for visiting me earlier.
ReplyDeleteGrace @ books of love
I need to get moving on reading more of these books that I keep picking up! I'm hoping to get started on my next Sookie Stackhouse book tonight if I'm not too tired.
DeleteHope you and your mom feel better soon! Awesome looking books!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I think she'll be in hospital at least another week. It's so tiring sitting in those roasting hot wards trying to keep a conversation going especially when the patient is so tired! She looked better yesterday though.
DeleteI hope you're feeling a bit better now. I was meant to get my tonsils removed when I was younger but thankfully they changed their mind as I heard it was pretty sore. It's horrible when you don't even feel like reading! Thanks for visiting my blog! Apologies if you get duplicate messages on your blog. Wordpress always makes it tough for me to leave messages on blogs for some reason. Keep pressing post comment but nothing is happening yet...
DeleteAll of these books are new to me, but I hope you enjoy them! Great haul and thanks for stopping by My Haul!
ReplyDeleteI certainly recommend Suzy Turner's books. They are pretty clean YA with great characters and action for all ages.
DeleteLovely looking books! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI hope to, when I finally get round to them!
DeleteYou just don't seem to be having the best of luck lately at all. I really hope things start to get better for you and your family soon. A lot of interesting books this week, I hope you enjoy them all :)
ReplyDeleteEither I broke a lot of mirrors as a kid or I was very bad in a previous life...Maybe by next weekend we'll know more about when my mum will get home. She keeps getting hit with infections due to this chemo. Still, fingers crossed, she is looking better than she did on Tuesday when she went in.
DeleteUgh, Royal Fail... I hope you get that all sorted out soon. This looks like a nice haul, anyway; I hope you enjoy it, when you get chance!
ReplyDeleteMy StS.
(Apologies if this sends more than once, my internet is playing games.)
Don't worry, I get problems every time I try to leave comments on a wordpress account! As for RM, they will be getting it from me on Tuesday if this package doesn't show up...
DeleteA nice haul! I hope you enjoy all of your new books :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week & happy reading! Sharon - Obsession with Books
Thanks Sharon! I need to pick up on my reading again but I'm just too tired each night to do anything except flop in front of the TV to watch Ax Men!
DeleteHope your mom gets well soon. You got some great looking books
ReplyDeleteThanks Cindy! I think I have too many great looking books! Deciding what to read next is always a problem!
DeleteKickass covers! Your haul looks like a very enjoyable read. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI do like a kickass heroine! I love these kinds of covers!
DeleteWhat a rotten week! I hope you don't get sick and that your package turns up. I read Zero Dog War when it first came out and the next book is out now.
ReplyDeleteI think I've given up on the package arriving so now I need to do battle with the company I bought it from AND Royal Mail to get a replacement or my money back. Not looking forward to all that hassle...
DeleteNice haul! I hope you enjoy your new books!
ReplyDeleteCome and check out OUT's STS
And dont forget to enter the giveaway!
Leydy from OUAT & RCE
Thanks for visiting! I hope to get back to reading soon.
DeleteHope you and your mom feel better. And that you're able to get some reading done. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm fighting off the infection for the most part-just concerned I might give it to my mum though. It feels like ages since I read anything!
