Reading With Chuckles

I have renamed my TBR Reading Challenge and changed it back to Reading with Chuckles as it sounds better, especially at times when I have no specific challenge running. So this is where I'll share what I read and abandoned each week, and I'll give the odd update on the state of my poor TBR! It does suffer at times...! The link under the book takes you to the Goodreads page for that book so you can decide whether to read it, and see my reviews when they are posted.

This week did not start great from a reading point of view. I was busy around the house trying to get ready for the new mattress on Wednesday. When that was eventually delivered, I then turned my attention to reading! I read two books this week but that was enough to get to my 200 book Goodreads Reading Challenge goal so I'm happy with that. I did tackle some of the urban fantasy pile on Friday and Saturday but have only liked one so far which I'm finishing today and will add to my read list when I finish this post. I'm trying to read during advert breaks and chat in the Paralympic coverage to get something done while I cheer on the team!

  1. Congrats on reaching your 200 books goal on goodreads. I am sorry to hear those Emma L Adams books didn't work for you as I usually enjoy her books. But it seems you had a few good reads as well this week. I hope next week is a good one!

    1. It's more about my changing tastes than any issues with the actual author I think. I'm getting turned off by angst between characters which is higher in YA and other similar things so that was more likely why I didn't take to the books. Still, we can't like everything, right? (thankfully!!!)

  2. The ones you finsihed all sound good to me. Too bad about those others. I've never been able to abandon a book. It haunts me until I pull it back off the shelf and finish it. LOL
Congrats on your reading challenge. I lowered mine to 125 this year and have far surpassed it. I wanted to lighten the stress and will probably have close to 200 by the time I get through all of the holiday reviews.

    1. I'm the opposite...I cannot stick with a book that I'm not enjoying! I guess I'm lucky that I can just switch off and forget about it once I stop reading it! On the reading challenge I can usually get up to about 250 but like you, I prefer a total I know I can get without stressing about it!
